The operatives help the soldiers repel the attack and spoke with the leader of the group, Ensign Belkan. Belkan, badly wounded, told the operatives that he and his group were sent by General Wendin | Wendin(Human)CharacterMinor Characters (TOR) | on a mission to retrieve secret astrogation charts from the sealed case stored in the Council chambers of the the Jedi Temple, but were ambushed by Imperial soldiers | Imperial Army (Sith Empire)OrganizationReconstituted Sith Empire | . He explained that they had a traitor among their ranks who betrayed the mission details to Imperials. He asked operatives to intervene and prevent the Imperials from obtaining the charts that were critical to the Republic's war effort. Once retrieved, the charts must be delivered directly to General Wendin's office in the Senate tower. As soon as he finished speaking, Belkan succumbed to his wounds.After completing their business in The Works along the way, the operatives took a speeder to the Jedi Temple. Not far from the taxi pad, near the turbolift leading to the main level or the temple, the operatives encountered a rearguard of Imperial infiltrators, consisting of several troopers and probe droids | INT-A01 Probe DroidDroidOld Republic Probe Droid classes | . They quickly defeated them and took a ride on the turboft to the main level. Inside the Temple, they entered the High Corridor. Fighting Imperial assault troopers and Sith adepts | Sith OrderOrganizationReconstituted Sith Empire | , the operatives made their way to a huge hall and found a sealed case among the crates where the charts should have been.But when they opened the case, it was empty. Behind them, they heard the hiss of lightsaber activation and turned around. Standing in front of them was a lone Sith Inquisitor | Sith InquisitorMiscellaneousRoles | armed with dual lightsaber | L1 Dual LightsaberWeaponLightsabers | who was definitely the one who had taken the charts from the case. The operatives attacked him and the battle began. It took the operatives all their skill and strength to defeat the enemy. They searched the body, found the astrogation computer and checked it - the charts were in place, intact. Wasting no time, the operatives went to the Senate Plaza and gave it to General Wendin at his command center in the Senate Tower.General thanked them, adding that he was mobilizing half the Republic army to go after it, then explained that the computer contained secret hyperspace routes the Jedi | Jedi OrderOrganizationGalaxy-Wide Organizations | shared with the Republic military decades ago - if The Empire got their hands on those hyperspace routes, they could ambush every ship in Republic fleet. Voidhound | VoidhoundCharacterMajor Characters | stated that those hyperspace routes could come in handy, but Wendin countered that if a smuggler wanted a shortcut through the Rimma trade route, it wasn't on the charts, these were military patrol routes, and they should be kept secret. |
